A trait associated with mental or emotional reactions. Roleplay relating to this trait should correspond with the rules of any stated effects, although specifics on how you roleplay are highly subjective. Examples:

  • If you're "repelled" by despair, you might cast your eyes down in misery and wail in hopelessness, rather than simply stepping away.
  • If you're "imbued" by despair, you're prooobably evil and might roleplay malicious or scary noises, rather than simply saying thanks. If for some reason you were not evil and imbued by despair, you might roleplay the wailing and gnashing of teeth as you're overcome by the hopelessness of it all, or become apathetic and make remarks on the futility of your efforts.

Many players attempt creative roleplay responses, but all roleplay should still include any required reactions resulting from the associated effect, such as falling down, stopping movement, crying out, stopping attacks, etc.

Abilities that remove "mental" effects would be effective against attacks that include this trait.
